Visitors UCSD Anesthesia Update ANESTHESIA UPDATE 2009 Save the Date The upcoming conference will be held January 14-17th, 2009 at the Kona Kai Resort Spa & Marina in San Diego, California. This is a truly beautiful location, and when asked at the end of last year’s conference if you wanted to stay at the same venue for 2009 your answer was, “Yes!” We are also proud to announce that in this day of ever climbing prices, the cost of our conference will remain the same as it has for the past four years! The Kona Kai Resort Spa & Marina is a spectacular waterfront getaway on San Diego’s Shelter Island. Each room has a spectacular view of the San Diego Harbor or the Marina and is located on eleven tropical acres. The resort offers several activities, including pool/spa, beach volleyball, bike rentals, Health Club with Spa Services, jogging and walking trails. Enjoy delectable cuisine with a spectacular view of the Marina in the Kona Kai Restaurant or relax in the Kona Lounge. Visit www.resortkonakai.com to check out the location for the UCSD Anesthesia Update Conference January 14-17th, 2009. The UCSD Anesthesia Update 2009 promises to be an exciting event. The program has a long history of providing excellent up-to-date lectures and workshops for the anesthesia practitioner, and participants should come away with a clear understanding of all subspecialty areas of anesthesia management. All of our speakers are experts in their respective fields. "Big names" such as Benumof, Kaplan, and Drummond will be there again, as well as some rising stars. As the Update Program Director this past year, I made it a point to listen to every lecture. Maybe I'm just a little biased, but I thought every last one was excellent, and by your reviews you thought so too. The format will follow that of previous “Anesthesia Updates”. Speakers will emphasize clinical, regional and obstetric anesthesia, pain management, as well as management of common but often challenging situations. This past year the lunchtime workshops in difficult airway management and regional anesthesia were big hits. We'll have them again this coming year, with the same leaders (Drs. Lee, Bellars in airway, Drs. Mariano and Sandhu in regional). As always the workshops will be FREE to meeting participants. Keep an eye on your mailbox for the Anesthesia Update Brochure in the months to come; it will also be accessible on our website at http://anes-som.ucsd.edu by the end of summer. We look forward to seeing you in January 2009 at the “UCSD Anesthesia Update”. Sincerely, |
