Welcome to the web site for the Division of cardiothoracic anesthesia, UCSD Department of Anesthesiology. This division has a strong focus on both resident and fellow education in many areas of cardiothoracic anesthesia including routine bypass, off-pump techniques, deep hypothermic circulatory arrest, transplantation, thoracic cases and transesophageal echocardiography. There is a strong encouragement for research opportunities with the cardiovascular physiology research laboratories. Please find further details within the associated links.
